About the position

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will evaluate current manufacturing processes and recommend changes to improve efficiency and quality. You will develop manufacturing processes by studying product requirements, research, design, and implement manufacturing methods and equipment that meet production cost targets and maintain quality. Additionally, you will recommend and select new equipment and tools, provide manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material cost estimates for ROI analysis, and improve production processes by editing machining orders, optimizing fixtures, and correcting CNC programming at the machine. You will also direct and oversee cost reduction and process improvement projects, evaluate, set up, and train the team on new equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate current manufacturing processes and recommend changes to improve efficiency and quality.
  • Develop manufacturing processes by studying product requirements.
  • Research, design, and implement manufacturing methods and equipment that meet production cost targets and maintain quality.
  • Recommend and select new equipment and tools, providing manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material cost estimates for ROI analysis.
  • Improve production processes by editing machining order, optimizing fixtures, and correcting CNC programming at the machine.
  • Direct and oversee cost reduction and process improvement projects.
  • Evaluate, set up, and train the team on new equipment.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of CNC machining experience.
  • Deep understanding of 3-axis and 4-axis horizontal CNC milling.
  • Ability to produce accurate and competitive quotes for aerospace products.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Flexibility and ability to perform in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
  • Experience with medium to highly complex components, including setup and operation of a diverse range of machine tools.
  • Solid understanding of the types of tooling required for specific applications and generalized machine shop procedures.
  • Complete understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Strong experience in interpreting part blueprints and customer/industry specifications.
  • Expertise in quoting parts for sectors including 3-axis, 4-axis, materials, and outside processes.
  • Strong analytical and math skills for interpreting and analyzing numerical data.
