About the position

As a member of the operations group, you will report directly to our site's General Manager. You will be responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating manufacturing processes in an industrial plant. You will work through various projects using lean techniques to meet organizational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods.
  • Review and analysis of space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
  • Confers with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
  • Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
  • Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
  • Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
  • Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year College or university; or two to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experienced in Lean Manufacturing, FMEA, PFMEA, Gemba events.
  • Experience (6 months or more) in Auto-Cad required.
  • Analytical skills to synthesize complex or diverse information.
  • Problem-solving skills to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Project management skills to develop project plans and coordinate projects.
  • Technical skills to assess strengths and weaknesses and pursue training opportunities.
  • Customer service skills to manage difficult situations and respond promptly to needs.
  • Leadership skills to inspire and motivate others.
  • Managing people skills to include staff in planning and decision-making.
  • Quality management skills to improve and promote quality.
  • Visionary leadership to provide vision and inspiration.
