Columbus Forge, a recognized leader in producing disks and airfoils for the aerospace propulsion market, is looking for dedicated individuals to support our organization. We have an opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineering Technician to be based in Columbus, GA. This is a B-shift opportunity. Selected candidate will need to train on 1st shift for 3-6 months prior to transitioning to B-shift.

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering support for production operations including process support, troubleshooting, machine setup, and root cause analysis within the machining business unit.
  • Collect and analyze data to identify adverse trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Obtain and maintain knowledge of machining techniques and processes for manufacturing.
  • Interpret requirements to develop and maintain processes to manufacture parts and tooling to engineering drawing requirements.
  • Assist in electronic work instruction update and creation for manufacturing use.
  • Interpret manufacturing inspection data to ensure product meets engineering requirements.
  • Be able to work in a team environment.
  • Be able to handle multi-tasking duties.
  • Demonstrate commitment to the EH&S and continuous improvement programs by complying with all policies and procedures, completing all required training, and supporting all applicable committee activities.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
  • 3 years technical experience.
  • 1 year manufacturing experience.
  • Experience troubleshooting manufacturing processes or machines.

Nice-to-haves

  • CNC Machine operating and setup experience.
  • 2 year technical certificate or associates degree.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite.
  • SAP experience.
