As a Manufacturing/Equipment/Supplier Engineering Intern, you will be involved in various engineering tasks, problem-solving, and documentation activities related to medical device development and surgical robotic systems and instruments. You will communicate and collaborate with multiple teams and stakeholders to provide updates and deliverables. This internship will allow you to work on substantive projects that have the potential to impact the future business of the company. You will also have the opportunity to present a project you have been involved with and share lessons learned with the organization. This position is ideal for students currently enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering or Biomedical Engineering undergraduate or graduate degree program, and it offers a full-time commitment during a 10-12 week period starting in May or June.

Responsibilities

  • Perform engineering tasks related to medical device development and surgical robotic systems.
  • Communicate and collaborate with multiple teams and stakeholders to provide updates and deliverables.
  • Work on substantive projects that have the potential to impact the future business of the company.
  • Present a project you have been involved with and lessons learned to the organization.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or relevant Engineering degree-seeking program at the Bachelor's level.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Hands-on experience creating rapid prototypes and mock-ups.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes, including injection molding and machining.
  • Prior use of CAD to design components, assemblies and mechanisms in SolidWorks.
  • Knowledge of and familiarity with Matlab or Python.
