About The Position

The position involves responsibilities in manufacturing process development and improvement, ensuring that new processes are released to production on time and within budget. Continuous process improvements are expected to reduce costs and dependency on expense items, while significantly improving yields for products facing processing difficulties without increasing unit costs. The role also emphasizes the delivery of quality products to internal customers, timely completion of tasks and projects, and leading and coordinating projects within Engineering for process development. Additionally, the position includes manufacturing process support, maintaining current processes, writing/editing procedures, training operators, interacting with suppliers, providing technical support, and reacting to production problems in real time. The candidate will also be responsible for designing and delivering process equipment for improvements while ensuring quality and cost targets are met.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Materials Science or Ceramics Engineering preferred)
  • 7+ years' experience in manufacturing utilizing process control methodology
  • 5+ years' experience in direct manufacturing process engineering
  • 3+ years offshore operations support experience in Asia

  • Proficient computer skills including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SQL Database, Minitab
  • Test expertise to achieve manufacturing excellence

Responsibilities

  • Release new processes to production on time and within budget
  • Implement continuous process improvements for cost reduction
  • Eliminate/reduce dependency on expense items through process improvements
  • Improve yields for products with processing difficulties without increasing unit costs
  • Deliver quality products to internal customers
  • Complete tasks and projects on time with prompt responses and technical documentation
  • Lead and coordinate projects within Engineering for process development
  • Maintain current processes to specifications set by procedures and product specifications
  • Write/edit procedures and train operators
  • Interact with suppliers to qualify new materials for processes
  • Provide technical support to Assembly and companywide projects
  • React to production problems in real time to ensure timely product delivery
  • Respond proactively to problem notes in area of expertise
  • Design and deliver process equipment for process improvement
  • Ensure quality targets are achieved while meeting cost targets
