About the position

Join our team and play a pivotal role in transforming our manufacturing processes to achieve greater efficiency and excellence. As a leader in the manufacturing sector, you will be responsible for achieving optimum employee levels with the least amount of overhead and raw material costs to meet the annual budgetary plan. You will develop, train, position, and nurture a world-class team that meets product quality, delivery, and cost goals necessary to optimize customer satisfaction and company profit. Your role will also involve formulating and recommending manufacturing policies and standards that guide the organization in maintaining and improving its competitive position and profitability. You will oversee the production process, manage the production schedule, and ensure that key performance indicators of efficiency and performance are met or exceeded. Continuous improvement will be a key focus, utilizing a Lean Six Sigma culture throughout operations.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve optimum employee levels with least amount of overhead and raw material costs to meet annual budgetary plan.
  • Develop, train, position and nurture a world-class team that meets product quality, delivery, and cost goals necessary to optimize customer satisfaction and company profit.
  • Formulate and recommend manufacturing policies and standards that guide the organization in maintaining and improving its competitive position and profitability.
  • Oversee the production process and manage production schedule.
  • Ensure Key Performance indicators of efficiency and performance are met or exceeded.
  • Identify, recommend, and implement changes to improve productivity and reduce cost and scrap.
  • Monitor scrap and rework data.
  • Coordinate, set up and implement standard operating procedure for production operations.
  • Maintain compliance of company policies, safety standards, quality specifications, regulatory requirements, and sanitation practices.
  • Drive continuous improvement using a Lean Six Sigma culture throughout the operations.
  • Lead the effort to eliminate waste and reduce cycle time and cost in half.
  • Work effectively to relate well with others and maintain positive and professional working relationships.

Requirements

  • 10+ years' experience in manufacturing management, preferably in a process-oriented operations and/or related industry.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience managing a significant segment of a large manufacturer or the entire operation of a smaller manufacturer.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to implement complex processes.
  • Knowledge of current procurement, inventory management strategies, quality and manufacturing practices.
  • Microsoft Excel skills required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with manufacturing-based technology, processing, and principles (MS project, AS400, ISO, Lean Six Sigma) is preferred.
