The Manufacturing Technician I plays a crucial role in ensuring that parts and finished products meet our high-quality standards. They are at the forefront of our manufacturing process and are responsible for completing specific steps required to manufacture goods. Their tasks include operating equipment, testing finished products, and troubleshooting machinery issues. This position requires a commitment to quality and safety, as the technician will be responsible for adhering to health and safety rules to minimize the risk of workplace injuries. Essential job functions include positioning parts and loading materials onto machinery, entering specifications into computers to configure equipment, and overseeing one or more stages of the production process while equipment is running. The technician will assess product quality and identify any flaws, address problems that arise with machinery, and make basic repairs to keep equipment operational. Regular inspection, cleaning, and maintenance of machinery are also critical to ensure it remains in good working order. The technician will update maintenance logs with relevant information and complete productivity reports detailing the number of parts or products produced during each shift. Participation in continuous improvement activities related to production processes is also expected. The role does not include supervising other employees, but it is essential for the technician to work collaboratively within a team environment. The company is committed to minimizing the environmental impact of its operations and adheres to all applicable environmental regulations and laws. Candidates must qualify as US Persons due to access to ITAR and EAR technical data, and travel is not required for this position.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent, e.g., vocational training, is required.
  • Prior experience in manufacturing or related fields is beneficial.
  • Background in aerospace, defense, or cable assembly industries favored.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Comfortable using computers for equipment setup and data entry.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems, SAP preferred.
  • Familiarity with production methods and equipment.
  • Capable of troubleshooting machinery issues.
  • Ensuring product quality and identifying defects.
  • Ability to perform minor equipment repairs.
  • Regularly inspecting and maintaining machinery.
  • Committed to following safety protocols.
