About the position

The Marketing Communications Specialist at Custom Culinary is a pivotal role designed to enhance both internal and external communications in alignment with the company's strategic objectives. This position is focused on promoting Custom Culinary's products, brands, and initiatives to support the overall financial goals of the business. The specialist will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive marketing communications calendar that integrates various channels including website, email marketing, and media outreach. This role requires a collaborative approach, working closely with the commercial team, which includes marketing, sales, and culinary professionals, to ensure that all communications are aligned and effectively activate the company's strategies. In this role, the Marketing Communications Specialist will create and implement a detailed communication strategy that encompasses both internal and external communications. Internal communications will aim to keep employees informed about key industry trends, company updates, and competitive activities, while external communications will focus on delivering insights and trends that align with the global strategy. The specialist will also be responsible for managing agency relationships and ensuring that all marketing materials reflect Custom Culinary's authentic voice and strategic objectives. The position involves leading website activities, collaborating with the marketing team and external agencies to develop content that resonates with the target audience. Additionally, the specialist will direct social media strategies and manage agency support for social media initiatives. Tracking and measuring the effectiveness of communications will be crucial, as the specialist will regularly report on key metrics and develop action plans for continuous improvement. Participation in the annual planning process, including industry and communications assessments, will also be a key responsibility of this role.

Responsibilities

  • Develop the Marketing Communications Calendar and communication plans to support business objectives.
  • Support and communicate a comprehensive communication strategy in collaboration with the commercial team.
  • Create and execute an annual marketing communications calendar across print, digital, and social media.
  • Develop internal communications to raise awareness of key industry and company activities.
  • Create external communications aligned with global strategy, including website content and social media posts.
  • Support segment and customer-focused presentations and ideation sessions as needed.
  • Manage agency activity and presentations for various marketing initiatives.
  • Create relevant content that aligns with Custom Culinary's strategy and voice.
  • Lead website activity, including content development and execution.
  • Direct social media strategy and manage agency support for social media initiatives.
  • Track and measure insights and communication results, reporting key metrics regularly.
  • Participate in the annual planning process, including industry and communications assessments.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1-3 years' experience in marketing, creative agency, media, or related field.
  • Minimum BA/BS degree, preferably in Marketing, Communications, or Business; MBA preferred.
  • Proven knowledge of the food or foodservice industry, including menu development processes.
  • Demonstrated track record of insight/trend generation with knowledge of key Foodservice industry resources.
  • Proven success in collaborating with cross-functional teams to create solutions.
  • Knowledge and experience with digital and social media.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with foodservice culinary processes.
  • Familiarity with industry assessment tools such as Technomic and Datassential.
