The Marketing Communications Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting the team at TEKsystems by designing and executing strategic marketing campaigns and initiatives. In this role, the Marketing Communications Specialist will work closely with IT and the Director of Strategic Communications to create engaging content for employees, enhancing the company's brand image and voice. A key aspect of the position involves placing the customer experience at the forefront of communication strategies, demonstrating a commitment to continuous learning and improvement. The specialist will gain insights into how the business operates at all levels and across various operating units, while also building expertise in IT, Information Security, and Marketing & Communications. The responsibilities include assisting in the development and implementation of marketing strategies and campaigns across various channels, such as digital, social media, and email, while ensuring a consistent brand voice and image. The specialist will contribute to IT project strategy and create content that aligns with customer needs, crafting narratives that are accessible to all levels of expertise. Additionally, the role involves building content for employee engagement activities, partnering with HR to maintain consistent branding for recruiting initiatives, and managing the company's website and social media presence. The Marketing Communications Specialist will embrace a test-and-learn mindset, contributing to brainstorming sessions and developing new ideas to enhance the effectiveness of marketing and communications efforts. Building trusting relationships across the organization is essential to understand diverse perspectives and viewpoints. Regular measurement and evaluation of the success of deployed tactics and tools will also be part of the role, along with managing projects to ensure content is ready for publication by the launch deadline. The specialist will provide copy review and guidance for both internal and external communications, actively participating in and leading projects involving stakeholders across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and implementation of marketing strategies and campaigns across various channels, including digital, social media, and email.
  • Create engaging content for employees to enhance the company's brand image and voice.
  • Build content for employee engagement activities including new hire onboarding, employee recognition, internal newsletters, and team-building events.
  • Partner with HR to drive consistent branding for all recruiting initiatives and manage the company's website and social media presence.
  • Contribute to brainstorming and developing new ideas to continuously improve marketing and communications efforts.
  • Regularly measure and evaluate the success of deployed tactics and tools.
  • Manage projects using department project management tools to ensure content is publication-ready by launch deadline.
  • Provide copy review and guidance for both internal and external communications.
  • Actively participate in and lead projects involving stakeholders across the organization.

Requirements

  • 2 to 4 years of experience in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a similar field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling marketing copy.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively across an organization, developing relationships and understanding multiple viewpoints.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for storytelling.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of basic design principles and experience with graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) is a plus.
