About the position

The Marketing Data Engineer will implement tracking and tagging solutions to support eCommerce and marketing channel data, ensuring data integrity through regular audits. This role is crucial for optimizing digital user experiences and marketing investments, ultimately improving key metrics such as conversion rates and customer acquisition costs.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Data Analysts and the Analytics team to capture, integrate, and curate data for eCommerce and Marketing teams.
  • Collaborate with Data Science and Engineering teams to enhance on-site/in-app tracking systems.
  • Aggregate data from various sources into data warehouses for analysis.
  • Validate reports and tagging through rigorous testing and optimization of data integrations.
  • Integrate eCommerce data with off-site data sources for holistic insights.
  • Develop and maintain data for real-time monitoring of core eCommerce metrics in collaboration with the Data Science team.
  • Stay updated on analytical best practices and industry standard metrics.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in data tagging, tracking, and integration implementations within a D2C eCommerce organization.
  • Strong experience in Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Twilio Segment (or similar), and PowerBI (or similar).
  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for conveying complex challenges and solutions.
  • Expertise in data curation for conversion-focused analysis and marketing channel analysis.
  • Experience working with engineering teams to implement custom tracking solutions.
  • Experience using data for multi-touch attribution models.
  • Experience building data pipelines and using orchestration tools.
  • Basic SQL and Python experience.
