The Marketing Specialist at Winter Park Resort is a pivotal role responsible for assisting in the planning and execution of marketing and promotional strategies for the resort. This position is year-round and is located in Winter Park, Colorado, which is known for its proximity to Denver and access to vast public lands. The Marketing Specialist will report directly to the Marketing Manager and will play a crucial role in enhancing the resort's brand presence and driving guest engagement. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in advertising, media analytics, and brand management, with a focus on increasing brand awareness, driving guest visits, and boosting ancillary revenue through effective marketing campaigns. In this role, the Marketing Specialist will develop creative briefs in collaboration with the Marketing Manager and Director to create compelling advertising campaigns. They will manage the advertising creative deliverables process to ensure brand adherence and campaign effectiveness, while also overseeing the marketing promotional calendar. The specialist will assist in planning, executing, and reporting on in-house advertising campaigns across various social media platforms, including Meta and TikTok. Analyzing competitor products and promotions will also be a key responsibility, as will scheduling and organizing key media and marketing meetings. The Marketing Specialist will be expected to prepare monthly forecasts and variance budget documents, review expense reports, and provide administrative support to the marketing leadership team. This position requires a proactive individual who can manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a strong focus on detail and accountability. The role may also involve occasional travel to industry events, although regular travel is not a requirement. Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning and executing resort marketing and promotional strategies.
  • Develop creative briefs in collaboration with the Marketing Manager and Director.
  • Project manage advertising creative deliverables to ensure brand adherence and campaign effectiveness.
  • Manage the marketing promotional calendar and create one-pagers for products and promotions.
  • Assist in planning, execution, and reporting of in-house advertising campaigns on social media platforms.
  • Create and analyze post-mortem reports for advertising campaigns and provide recommendations.
  • Analyze competitor products, promotions, and advertising to inform marketing strategies.
  • Schedule and organize key media, agency, and marketing meetings, and send minutes to attendees.
  • Analyze marketing reports and follow up with managers on actionable items.
  • Ensure consistent marketing messages across multiple consumer touch points.
  • Proofread creative for advertising and other marketing channels as assigned.
  • Prepare monthly forecast and variance budget documents for the marketing budget.
  • Review monthly expense reports and reconcile accounts payable.
  • Provide occasional administrative support to the VP, Director, and Managers of Marketing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing or business-related field or relevant marketing experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in marketing or related field, featuring analytic reporting, budget management, and media coordination.
  • Experience in agency account management, media coordination, or similar role on a marketing team is a plus.
  • Experience in outdoor/hospitality/ski marketing preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, Tableau, or similar data analysis platforms required.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects independently and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and business acumen.
