About the position

H.J. Martin and Son is a diversified construction company specializing in commercial and residential flooring, glass and glazing, walls and ceilings, commercial doors and hardware, and millwork and fixture installation. The Marketing Specialist position will work closely with the VP of Communication & Administration on various aspects of advertising, public relations, communications, social media, collateral/signage, event planning, and creative projects related to H.J. Martin and Son divisions and surrounding companies. This role is crucial in managing the company's brand presence and ensuring effective communication across multiple platforms. The Marketing Specialist will be responsible for managing multiple projects and deadlines, demonstrating excellent time management skills. This includes overseeing all company brands and implementing brand standards for documents and communications. The role also involves planning and executing company events, creating and developing visual assets for advertising and online presence, and managing printing projects for both internal collateral and client projects. Additionally, the Marketing Specialist will contribute to the social media strategy and execution for various companies, including platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest, while also interacting with customers professionally via these channels. Analyzing social media statistics to inform the company's marketing strategy is a key responsibility, as is researching current and emerging trends to enhance marketing efforts. The Marketing Specialist will also be tasked with writing and distributing company press releases, blogs, and case studies, managing photography assets, and organizing photo shoots. Collaboration with the marketing team on special projects and managing client needs for the Martin Communications agency are also essential components of this role. Other duties may be assigned as necessary to support team members and ensure the efficient functioning of the business.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple projects and deadlines with excellent time management skills.
• Manage all company brands and implement brand standards for documents and communications.
• Plan and execute company events.
• Create and develop visual assets for advertising, promotion, and online presence.
• Manage printing projects for internal collateral and for client projects.
• Contribute to social media strategy (photo/video) and execution for multiple companies, including Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, etc.
• Interact with customers professionally via company social media accounts.
• Analyze social media statistics and create direction for the company's social media marketing plan/strategy to continuously improve.
• Research current and emerging trends to implement into marketing strategy.
• Write and distribute company press releases, blogs, and case studies.
• Manage photography assets and organize photo shoots.
• Work closely with the marketing team on special projects.
• Manage needs of clients for the Martin Communications agency, managed by the H.J. Martin and Son Marketing Department.
• Perform other related duties as assigned including supporting team members in the completion of their work for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the business.

Requirements

• 3-4 years of on-the-job marketing experience.
• Associate or Bachelor's degree required, preferably with marketing, public relations, social media, or journalism emphasis.
• Experience using Canva and Adobe Creative Suite for graphic and video creation.
• Experience with social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc., and social media best practices.
• Experience in WordPress content management system preferred.
• Self-starter and ability to multi-task and work well under pressure.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
