About the position

The Master Scheduler at Sika Corporation is responsible for creating and overseeing a high-level production schedule that aligns with customer demand and optimizes resources across multiple sites. This role involves analyzing demand and supply, collaborating with various departments, and ensuring efficient scheduling to meet production commitments while managing inventory levels and minimizing disruptions.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze demand and supply at the item, customer, and master schedule levels, determining out of balance conditions and recommending actions for approval.
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, and manufacturing to understand and reduce internal and customer lead-times.
  • Conduct rough-cut capacity planning prior to publishing the master schedule to ensure alignment with SI&OP commitments.
  • Oversee S&OE commitments within the sites to ensure efficient detailed scheduling and utilization of capacity.
  • Identify, negotiate, and resolve conflicts regarding material and capacity availability and order-promising integrity across the manufacturing network.
  • Create a master schedule that satisfies customer demand while leveling workload released to manufacturing and optimizing inventory levels and resource utilization.
  • Maintain scheduling parameters, such as lead-times, lot sizes, and cycle times.
  • Monitor the implementation of schedules and evaluate their success, assessing and mitigating risks that may impact the schedule.
  • Proactively identify potential scheduling conflicts or bottlenecks and work with relevant departments to resolve them.
  • Collaborate closely with Production, Purchasing, Engineering, Product Management, Quality, and Sales teams to ensure that the schedule is realistic and aligns with overall business objectives.
  • Evaluate and adjust schedules to account for inventories and capacity constraints.
  • Communicate schedule changes to corresponding stakeholders as changes occur.
  • Review upcoming projects for complexity, special build requirements, line and capacity requirements, manpower allocation, etc.
  • Identify areas for process improvement within the scheduling function and implement changes to meet stated lead times.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (preferred)
  • 5 years of experience in Inventory/Supply Management (required)
  • 5 years of experience in production scheduling (required)
  • 5 years of experience in Capacity Planning (required)
  • Ability to commute to Dallas, TX 75244 (required)
  • Ability to relocate to Dallas, TX 75244 before starting work (required)
  • Willingness to travel 25% (required)
