About The Position

Supports the Modernization Displacement and Repair Site (MDRS) Transportation section through the turn-in and shipment of equipment. Coordinates and expedites the flow of material (property book items, repair parts, etc) from the MDRS Supply Section to MDRS Transportation Section to prepare for transportation and to ship.

Requirements

  • Must have hands-on experience with GCSS-Army.
  • Must have knowledge with documentations such as DA Form 1149 Requisition and Invoice Shipping Document: DD Form 1348-1A Issue Release/Receipt and other applicable DA/DoD forms.
  • Must able to operate a forklift (4k/10k).
  • Must be physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Is required to consistently perform duties in a warehouse or storage yard consisting of dust, dirt, and in the weather elements.
  • Capable of using and understanding Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Must possess good communication skills and work in a Team environment.
  • Must be computer literate with experience in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Must be a US Citizen or US permanent resident for more than 3 years.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Must have a High School diploma or equivalent and be 18 years of age.
  • Must possess a current and valid state driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and processes documents for turn-in or for shipping by utilizing Global Combat Support System-Army (GCSS-A), Federal Logistics Database (FEDLOG), and Vantage Systems.
  • Process and document equipment for shipment, requests Funds Verification and Use Authorization (FVUA), and Commercial Bill of Lading.
  • Receives equipment from MDRS supply section when ready to ship.
  • Unloads, loads, inspects equipment, verifies serial numbers, counts, segregates, and palletizes equipment to temporary store and/or to ship.
  • Schedules transportation through Cargo Movement Operations System (CMOS).
  • Ensures equipment identified as sensitive items, or Hazardous Material is properly classified, marked/labeled and transported correctly IAW regulations.
  • Maintain files of documents used and prepared.
  • Operates materiel handling equipment (MHE) and box truck as required.
  • Maintains neat and orderly work area.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
