About The Position

The Production Forklift Operator at Amcor is responsible for operating and maintaining forklifts to supply production operations with raw materials, transfer finished products to storage or staging areas, and ensure timely loading of finished products onto trucks for customer deliveries. This role also involves operating palletizers and downstream equipment, performing quality checks, and maintaining safety and cleanliness in the work area.

Requirements

  • Experience operating forklifts and other material handling equipment.
  • Ability to perform quality checks and communicate effectively with team members.
  • Familiarity with HACCP, GMP, and Product Safety rules and guidelines.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate logs and inventory counts.

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Knowledge of packaging processes and equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain a forklift to supply production operations with raw materials.
  • Transfer finished products to staging or storage areas.
  • Load finished goods onto trucks in a timely manner to meet customer delivery requirements.
  • Operate palletizers, strapping machines, wrappers, conveyors, and computer equipment for labeling finished goods.
  • Complete quality checks and communicate quality issues to the Shift Lead, Shift Supervisor, and Quality Department.
  • Print and scan Bill of Lading for all finished goods using computer interface and RF scanner.
  • Inspect finished goods for quality defects.
  • Ensure conveyor lines are free of blockages while running the palletizer.
  • Accurately complete all written logs and data input, including closing sequences on tickets.
  • Ensure accurate inventory counts and notify lead/supervisor of discrepancies.
  • Communicate effectively with all internal departments.
  • Remove/rework any damaged product on pallets.
  • Maintain a clean work area and perform general housekeeping duties.
  • Train current and new members of the department to perform job-related tasks as needed.
