About The Position

The Material Logistics Coordinator at Lockheed Martin is responsible for supporting manufacturing operations through various shop control duties. This role involves maintaining the supply of parts and materials, preparing and updating shortage reports, and ensuring timely delivery of items to users. The coordinator will work closely with manufacturing supervision and other departments to manage material requirements and resolve any discrepancies in inventory. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and effective communication with various stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Elementary knowledge of business and shop practices.
  • Knowledge of material planning, scheduling, and automated shortage systems.
  • Ability to read ordinary drawings.
  • Familiarity with department breakdowns.
  • Equivalent to short specialized training.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Perform shop control duties in support of manufacturing operations.
  • Maintain proper supply of parts and materials.
  • Prepare, update, and work from current and projected shortage reports.
  • React immediately to urgently needed items and follow up through conclusion.
  • Assure supplies and related paperwork are provided to users.
  • Maintain close contact with manufacturing supervision and responsible personnel from various departments.
  • Check incoming and outgoing items against accompanying paperwork for proper identification and quantity.
  • Stock, store, gather, and deliver items as required.
  • Use data terminal to execute catalogue programs and log required data.
  • Investigate and correct inconsistencies reported on daily automated shortage list.
  • Update and change computer database for engineering modifications and reworked items.
  • Represent Shop Control at status/shortage meetings.
  • Maintain and update priority lists and provide required information to manufacturing supervision.
  • Transport and deliver items to designated areas as required.
  • Perform operator checklist and contribute to equipment upkeep.
  • Follow environmental health and safety regulations.
