The Mechanic B L1-2 position within the Facilities Operation and Maintenance department is designed for skilled individuals with a diverse background in building trades. This role involves performing maintenance and repairs on various facility systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, masonry, and painting. The position offers opportunities for career advancement through training, leading to a Mechanic A position.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on facility equipment and systems.
• Apply knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, masonry, and painting to solve problems and complete tasks.
• Work closely with the team to ensure the smooth operation of facilities.
• Complete asbestos courses as part of ongoing professional development.
• Work at high elevations and in outdoor weather conditions, demonstrating flexibility and resilience.
• Quickly troubleshoot and resolve problems.
• Interpret basic information on drawings.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED
• 3-5 years of relevant work experience in building trades
• Ability to read schematics and engineering prints
• Experience using work management system Maximo for time entry and updates to work orders.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in rotating equipment and mechanical repair
• EPA universal certification
• R410A Technician certification
