About the position

The Mechanical Assembler I position at FuelCell Energy involves performing a variety of assembly operations on electronic, electro-mechanical, and mechanical products. The role is crucial in ensuring that the assembly meets quality and quantity standards while adhering to safety regulations. The assembler will work primarily on the final assembly of fuel cell technology components, contributing to the company's mission of decarbonizing power and producing hydrogen.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a wide variety of electronic, electro-mechanical, mechanical, or measurement product assembly operations.
  • Determine and follow work instructions and sequence travelers of operations.
  • Perform wiring, component installation, welding, and fitting on assembly units.
  • Make setups and adjustments while holding tolerances to blueprint specifications.
  • Meet quantity and quality standards and requirements in hands-on manufacturing tasks.
  • Interact and communicate positively with coworkers, managers, and customers.
  • Interpret drawings and other documents as required to meet production requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum HS Diploma or GED required.
  • Trade School or Military experience is a plus.
  • Previous manufacturing or mechanical experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience in automotive repairs, construction, or assembly environments is considered.

Nice-to-haves

  • Background in welding and electronic/wiring assembly.
  • Experience with tooling and assembly utilizing heavy equipment.
  • Experience with quality measuring tools, such as calipers and micrometers.
  • Experience in the use of air pallets, forklifts, and overhead crane operations.
