In this role, you will be part of a team working on the latest advancements in unmanned aircraft technology. You will have the opportunity to work on groundbreaking designs that will shape the future of tactical aviation. Your responsibilities will include designing and implementing innovative airframe, structural, and system integration solutions for target and tactical aircraft systems. You will utilize your experience in designing cost-effective and weight-efficient structural solutions using a variety of material systems, including composite technologies, for the next generation of unmanned systems. This position requires working in a fast-paced environment that rapidly develops and deploys state-of-the-art unmanned aircraft for a diverse array of customers and applications.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement innovative airframe, structural, and system integration solutions for unmanned aircraft systems.
• Lead design teams and manage technical decisions to accomplish complex system designs on time and within budget.
• Prepare formal engineering documentation including drawings, specifications, and parts lists.
• Utilize Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) tools, preferably Dassault Products (Catia, 3DX), to develop and document models and drawings.
• Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and perform tolerance studies to ensure practical designs.
• Prepare and present design review materials for technical interchange meetings with customers and suppliers.
• Ensure project objectives are met according to schedule and cost targets.
• Support system testing, troubleshooting, and problem resolution.
• Prepare test plans, procedures, and reports for mechanical systems.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide oversight on engineering tasks.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Structures Engineering preferred).
• 6+ years of related experience in engineering discipline for Mechanical/Structures Engineer III.
• 11+ years of related experience in engineering discipline for Mechanical/Structures Engineer IV.
• Strong background in composite airframe design and composite material systems.
• 3+ years of leading design teams in the aerospace industry for Mechanical/Structures Engineer III.
• 6+ years of leading design teams in the aerospace industry for Mechanical/Structures Engineer IV.
• Proficiency in CAD software, preferably Dassault Products (Catia, 3DX).
• Knowledge of systems engineering principles and ability to prepare designs according to customer requirements.
