Mechanical Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Use CAD tools to generate 3D models of parts and assemblies
• Perform mechanical systems designs, engineering calculations and related engineering analyses to determine best solutions
• Investigate, specify, and select raw materials, components and hardware required to meet customer requirements
• Perform prototyping, assembly simulations, and tolerance stack calculations
• Provide mechanical design consultation for internal and external customers.

Requirements

• Experience with all phases of design, from conceptualization to fabrication
• Familiarity with mechanical packaging for electrical devices, preferably with Focal Plane Assembly
• Proficiency using Solidworks, finite element method analysis, and Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong communication skills
• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering with at least 5 years of experience
• Must be a U.S. Citizen due to access restrictions.
