The Mechanical Designer-SolidWorks will play a crucial role in the design and development of filtration systems, which can range in price from small systems to large-scale projects valued at up to $3 million. This position requires proficiency in SolidWorks, as the designer will be responsible for creating detailed drawings and models that adhere to the department's programming, drawing standards, and conventions. The designer will typically produce between 3 to 10 drawings per week, which may include floor plans, structural tank drawings, structural platforms and mezzanines, and plumbing routing drawings. The work will primarily involve updating existing standard drawings, with an expected ratio of 80% updates to 20% new designs. This is a permanent, fully on-site position located in Waukesha, Wisconsin. The work environment consists of a small team of five individuals, including three designers focused on filter design and two project engineers who will integrate the filters into larger systems. The physical work environment may involve occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles, and safety glasses and shoes are required when working on the shop floor. The noise level can vary, being moderate in the office and loud in the shop area, which necessitates a focus on safety and adherence to protocols.
