About the position

As a Mechanical or Electrical Engineer at PowerGen, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful execution of industrial generator projects from inception to completion. This role involves planning, quoting, and bidding projects while providing high-level engineering support and project management expertise. You will work closely with technicians and internal teams to develop repair quotes and project bids, analyze technician reports, and provide engineered solutions for generator repairs and installations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and submit comprehensive project proposals and bids, considering client requirements, regulatory standards, and cost estimates.
  • Analyze technician reports and create repair plans for industrial generators and related systems.
  • Design and build repair plans based on diagnostic reports and technical assessments.
  • Oversee the execution of key industrial projects, managing timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure project success.
  • Provide higher-level engineering solutions and technical support for complex repair and maintenance challenges.
  • Collaborate with sales, service technicians, and other internal teams to ensure a seamless workflow from project planning through completion.
  • Ensure all projects meet relevant regulatory and safety standards, especially those pertaining to California's strict environmental and electrical codes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in reliability/maintenance engineering, project planning, quoting, and bidding within the electrical/mechanical or general generator industry.
  • Strong understanding of industrial generator systems and components.
  • Proven experience in project management, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for interacting with clients and internal teams.
  • Familiarity with California state regulations related to electrical and environmental safety (preferred), or familiarity with NFPA.
  • Ability to interpret technical reports and provide clear, actionable repair plans.
