About the position

BHE GT&S is seeking a Mechanical Engineer I, Engineer II, Sr Engineer, or Sr Engineer II for our White Oaks location in Bridgeport, WV. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where you will be responsible for maintaining equipment specifications, ensuring they are up-to-date with the latest technology. As a subject matter expert and primary point of contact for ASME/BPVC, you will play a crucial role in managing and maintaining the engineering training program, providing mechanical equipment troubleshooting support, and developing maintenance plans primarily for heaters. In this role, you will evaluate facilities against current operations to ensure that designs are adequate and will be tasked with revamping task and step manuals. You will support mechanical design for growth projects and serve as a bolting and torquing subject matter expert. Additionally, you will provide mechanical support for facility audits, metallurgical support, and be the SME for destructive testing and laboratory testing. Your responsibilities will also include mechanical design and equipment sizing support for EGTS/CGT, maintaining the Approved Manufacturer List (AML), evaluating new manufacturers, and maintaining gas loss maps. This position requires a strong foundation in engineering principles and the ability to apply them to complex problems. You will be expected to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being capable of independent work. Responsibilities

  • Maintain equipment specifications to keep them current with new technology.
  • Subject matter expert/primary POC for ASME/BPVC.

Requirements

  • Competency in applying engineering principles, fundamental concepts, practices and procedures requiring some evaluation, originality and/or ingenuity to achieve project objectives for Engineer II.
  • Understands and can apply knowledge of configuration management for Engineer II.
  • Ability to perform engineering calculations using applicable software programs (e.g. Matlab, Excel, etc.) for Engineer II.
  • Planning, organizational and project management skills for Engineer II.
  • Ability to develop and exercise leadership skills for Engineer II.
  • 5 years of relevant engineering experience for Sr Engineer; PE license preferred.
  • Full knowledge of engineering theories and principles for Sr Engineer.
  • Skilled in use of advanced techniques and modification and extension of theories, precepts and practices of the field and related sciences and disciplines for Sr Engineer.
  • Strong leadership skills with proven ability to serve as team project lead for Sr Engineer.
  • Provide guidance to less experienced engineers for Sr Engineer.
  • Strong personal computer skills for Sr Engineer.
  • In depth knowledge of various computer applications, with the ability to manipulate personal computer applications and perform engineering calculations using applicable software programs (e.g. Matlab, Excel, etc.) for Sr Engineer.
  • Eight or more years of experience as a practicing engineer in related engineering applications or other related industry experience for Sr Engineer II; requires PE or 10 years as a practicing engineer if no PE license.
  • Significant engineering knowledge of natural gas industry related to the design and installation of pipelines, compressor stations and process equipment for Sr Engineer II.
