About the position

As a Mechanical Engineer I at Tuboscope, you will be an integral part of our engineering team, contributing to the planning, design, and installation of various engineering-based projects. These projects will primarily focus on the design of new equipment, construction of new systems, and refurbishment of existing equipment. You will lead the conceptual development and implementation of manufacturing equipment, ensuring that all projects are organized, scheduled, and executed within budget constraints. Your role will also involve providing hands-on operational support across all manufacturing facilities, which includes troubleshooting technical issues, modifying existing equipment, and overseeing the installation of new systems. In this position, you will manage various contractors and technicians, ensuring that work performed within NOV Tuboscope facilities meets our high standards. You will be responsible for reviewing, commenting on, and modifying design drawings prepared by consultants or in-house teams to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Proficiency in AutoCAD, AutoDesk Inventor, and Siemens NX is essential, as you will utilize these tools to successfully complete engineering design projects. Additionally, you will create and modify equipment drawings using Team Center and develop strong business relationships with our vendors to facilitate project success.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the planning, design, and installation of engineering-based projects.
  • Lead the conceptual development and design of manufacturing equipment.
  • Oversee organization, scheduling, and cost control of projects.
  • Provide operational field support to manufacturing facilities, including troubleshooting and modifications of equipment.
  • Manage contractors and technicians on-site and indirectly within NOV Tuboscope facilities.
  • Review and modify design drawings for compliance with regulatory agencies.
  • Utilize AutoCAD, AutoDesk Inventor, and Siemens NX for engineering design projects.
  • Create and modify equipment drawings using Team Center.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited university.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and AutoDesk Inventor for producing and modifying drawings.
  • Excellent communication skills to convey ideas clearly.
  • Ability to work independently and multitask effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail.

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • EIT or PE License.
  • High level of organizational skills.
  • Mechanically inclined mindset with minimal supervision capability.
