We have an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer II to join the Test Equipment Engineering organization located onsite in Tucson, AZ. The Test Equipment Engineering (TEE) directorate is a multi-discipline organization responsible for developing test solutions for all Raytheon products. We are hands-on, designing with the latest technology and tools, and integrate state of the art test solutions with the most advanced engineering systems in the world. TEE products are located in engineering labs, in the field, and in production environments utilized for weapon system product verification, qualification, test data analysis, and production test solution development. TEE has job opportunities across all phases of the engineering lifecycle, including demonstrations, early engineering tests, design verification tests, production, and sustainment. TEE is looking for Mechanical Engineers to be responsible for designing, developing, documenting, and maintaining complex test environment systems for all Raytheon products. Responsibilities

  • Research, plan, design, and document mechanical test systems in areas including vibration, thermal, hydraulic, radio frequency, and electro-optical for production testing environments.
  • Integrate and validate test systems against stringent accuracy and reliability requirements.
  • Evaluate production installations and recommend design modifications to eliminate malfunctions.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of two (2) years of prior relevant experience.
  • Two (2) years of technical / engineering experience in mechanical design and/or production support.
  • Two (2) years of experience with CAD solid modeling tools.
  • Experience creating mechanical drawing packages.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Design experience using Creo with mechanical and electronic packaging.
  • Creo Schematic and cable design experience.
  • Experience with Configuration Management processes, application, and tools (e.g., Windchill / cPDM).
  • Experience in mechanical sub-systems packaging, materials, thermal analysis, structural analysis, control systems, electrical hardware design, or large assembly development.
  • Experience with environmental stress screening of hardware (e.g., vibration, shock, thermal, etc.).
  • Experience with geometric dimensioning and tolerance analysis.
