The Mechanical Engineer II role is a professional level position responsible for performing and analyzing routine to moderately complex engineering functions while applying mathematical, physical science, and engineering technologies. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring quality control function designs and specifications while achieving cost-effective and reliable manufacturing and measuring processes. The engineer will assist in the design and/or project/process management of products, programs, components, tools, and acceptance equipment under technical guidance. In this role, the engineer will develop manufacturing and/or measuring methods that designate tooling, gauges, acceptance equipment, and processing procedures. They will define and acquire the necessary equipment to manufacture and inspect parts to assure product quality. The engineer will also develop test procedures and perform routine to moderately complex engineering evaluation tests, product and process capability studies, quality audits, and product or project data reviews. This work is essential to assure product manufacturability and to maintain high standards of quality. The Mechanical Engineer II will interact with partners, customers, suppliers, and internal organizations to assist in resolving design, development, production, and acceptance issues. They will prepare evaluation reports, analyze discrepancies, and make recommendations for improvements in products, test equipment, procedures, and manufacturing or operating processes that enhance productivity and quality while reducing flow time.
