About the position

Parsons is seeking Mechanical Engineering Interns to support HVAC, plumbing, industrial piping, and industrial ventilation for federal projects in our Pasadena, CA, Kentucky, and Tennessee offices. This internship is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the engineering design procedure and the critical role that Mechanical Engineers play in the industry. Interns will engage in various tasks, including Revit design for mechanical systems, performing engineering calculations and analyses related to thermal and fluid mechanics, conducting research, and creating engineering reports. Each intern will be paired one-on-one with a mentor from the same discipline to facilitate their education and enhance the quality of their experience. Additionally, interns will participate in the 4D Internship Program, which allows them to interact with peers from different disciplines and senior management within the organization. Responsibilities

  • Support HVAC, plumbing, industrial piping, and industrial ventilation for federal projects.
  • Perform Revit design for mechanical systems.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's (3rd year or above) or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Fire Protection.
  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Major GPA greater than 3.25/4.00.
  • Good writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • 3D Computer-Aided Design (CAD) experience (i.e. SolidWorks) or Revit experience.
  • Deep knowledge of heat transfer and fluid mechanics.
  • Familiarity with energy modeling, research assistant roles, and extensive lab coursework.
