About the position

The Mechanical Engineer of Distinction at IMEG Corp. is a recognized technical expert in mechanical design, focusing on healthcare projects. This role emphasizes strategic implementation of team initiatives centered around technical expertise, quality, and innovation to ensure positive outcomes. The engineer will lead quality control, innovation, and technical training efforts, while also enhancing IMEG's positioning with clients through recognized technical expertise and thought leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance within the team and company to meet the technical engineering needs for projects.
  • Hold a technical leadership position within IMEG and champion growth in their area of expertise.
  • Serve as a technical resource for resolving field issues on projects, visiting project sites and resolving technical issues with little assistance from other senior staff.
  • Participate in promotional activities that establish IMEG as a technical expert, including speaking at conferences and writing articles.
  • Make major design decisions and provide project design direction to the team.
  • Plan design work by discipline for all project sizes and assign duties to staff working on projects.
  • Review correspondence prepared by less experienced staff.
  • Actively lead in the quality control process for team projects.
  • Contribute to IMEG's thought leadership through the Technical Operations Team.
  • Act as an advisor and analyze technical problems and write technical reports.
  • Play a significant role in project reviews for quality control for large complex projects.
  • Lead project interviews and project presentations.

Requirements

  • Mastery of design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications.
  • Mastery of technical and analytical skills including proficiency in thermodynamics, psychrometrics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics relating to mechanical design in HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
  • Strong training, mentoring, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to perform final quality control check in their area of expertise.
  • Ability to sell work and develop client relationships.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Eagerness to adapt to new challenges.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups.
