About The Position

The Mechanical Engineer will design, analyze, and optimize mechanical components and systems used in solar energy products production. This role requires a strong background in mechanical engineering, CAD design, and manufacturing processes to support the development of innovative solar energy solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related engineering field
  • 3+ years of manufacturing experience
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials selection, and fabrication techniques used in producing mechanical components and systems.
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards and codes applicable to mechanical design, such as ASME, ANSI, and ISO.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software, with experience in 3D modeling, drafting, and simulation.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, including statics, dynamics, materials science, and thermodynamics.
  • Experience with finite element analysis (FEA), computational fluid dynamics (CFD), and other engineering analysis tools is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and systems for solar energy products, including solar panels, mounting structures, trackers, and balance of system (BOS) components.
  • Perform engineering analysis and simulations to validate design concepts, optimize performance, and ensure compliance with technical specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineering, manufacturing, procurement, and quality assurance, to translate design requirements into manufacturable products.
  • Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA) to create detailed 3D models, drawings, and specifications for mechanical parts and assemblies.
  • Generate engineering documentation, including bill of materials (BOM), design documentation, test plans, and technical reports, to support product development and manufacturing processes.
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing teams, resolving design-related issues, implementing process improvements, and optimizing production workflows.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in mechanical engineering, participating in professional development activities and knowledge-sharing sessions.
