About the position

In this role, you will be responsible for supporting environmental testing of electronic assemblies, chassis, and circuit cards within the Environmental lab, which provides critical 24/7 testing for over 50 Defense & Space programs. You will apply engineering principles and discipline to develop environments that meet program requirements for dynamic and climatic testing. This includes the design of fixtures and tooling, as well as writing test procedures and reports. Your ability to meet technical schedules and cost requirements for assigned projects and tasks will be crucial to your success in this position. You will interface with both program staff and customers to support the technical definition and execution of environmental testing. Additionally, you will assist technicians with environmental equipment failures and lead efforts in troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair to quickly return equipment to a ready status. Anticipating problems, recognizing, and eliminating barriers will be key aspects of your role. You will also be responsible for planning and organizing complex technical tasks, keeping management apprised of program status, resource issues, and program roadblocks. This position requires strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with other organizations and individuals at all levels, as well as the adaptability to thrive in a changing environment.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum 1 year of test experience in an Environmental Engineering environment.
  • US Citizenship is required due to export control regulations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with dynamic testing: electrodynamic shakers, pyro, and acceleration.
  • Experience with climatic and pressure testing.
  • Experience supporting tests using MIL-Standards 202 and 810.
