About the position

The Mechanical Engineer position at Noblis MSD involves supporting the Naval Sea Systems Command and Naval Surface Warfare Center in various ship programs for the US Navy, specifically focusing on Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Mechanical Systems. The role encompasses designing, evaluating, planning, testing, and operating mechanical equipment and systems for military and scientific applications. Responsibilities

• Creating mechanical designs and drawings
• Writing precise calculations
• Creating and testing prototypes for functionality
• Re-engineering products when problems are found and recalculating for the return of products to full functionality
• Preparing reports and documentation for leadership

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related degree
• 0 to 3 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering with an understanding of mechanical systems
• Active DoD security clearance at SECRET level or the ability to obtain one
• Experienced in using 2D/3D engineering design & manufacturing tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor)
• Experience reviewing models and drawings for manufacturability of parts
• Experience with documentation development including drawings, technical manuals, and Bill of Materials (APL)

Nice-to-haves

• Experience working with detailed specifications under configuration management
• Experience interfacing directly with US military technical representatives
• Experience working with equipment suppliers and vendors
• Familiarity with military specifications for technical design
• Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner
