About the position

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Mechanical Engineer to join our team, working remotely from any of our West Central offices. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on projects that provide innovative solutions to our municipal clients' water and wastewater challenges, both locally and globally. As a Mechanical Process Engineer, you will be responsible for designing water and wastewater pump stations, treatment facilities, and conveyance systems. Your work will involve technical writing and the production of construction drawings and specifications. You will leverage your experience to design pump stations for water and wastewater, which includes performing pipe sizing calculations, selecting pump types, and designing process facilities such as primary, secondary, tertiary, and solids treatment systems. Additionally, you will work with rotating equipment like centrifugal pumps and blowers, as well as piping systems, valves, and appurtenances for in-plant process piping, chemical systems, and hydraulic studies. Responsibilities

  • Design water and wastewater pump stations and treatment facilities/processes.
  • Conduct pipe sizing calculations and select appropriate pump types.
  • Design conveyance systems and in-plant process piping.
  • Produce technical writing, construction drawings, and specifications.
  • Perform hydraulic studies and design implementation of rotating equipment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • At least 5 years of experience in water/wastewater process mechanical engineering for municipal clients
  • Detailed mechanical design experience for water and wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, and conveyance systems
  • Experience with water/wastewater equipment for municipal clients
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) License

Nice-to-haves

  • Hydraulic Modeling experience
  • In plant Piping System Design for water and wastewater systems experience
  • Design implementation of rotating equipment and process treatment equipment
  • Experience with Design-Build, CMAR/CM-GC and/or EPC projects
  • Construction support services for water and wastewater projects
