About The Position

The Project Engineer position at Westinghouse focuses on the design and delivery of the AP300 Small Modular Reactor (SMR). This role combines project management, issue management, and technical leadership responsibilities, requiring a high-performing individual who is solution-oriented and eager to develop skills beyond traditional engineering.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering.
• Previous experience on AP1000 or AP300 preferred.
• Ability to travel internationally as projects require (up to +/- 10% for peak times).
• Cognizance in at least one of the following technical areas preferred: Protection and Safety Monitoring System, Neutron Monitoring System.
• Knowledge of project management principles and a strong desire to work in a technical project management role.
• Very effective oral and written communications skills.
• Ability to establish effective networks across various functional areas.

Responsibilities

• Drive functional area completion of required scope to support plant operations.
• Manage and drive the schedule and cost of projects.
• Provide accurate demand signals to functional areas and collaborate with Resource Managers to resource load the schedule.
• Identify risks and challenges within functional areas and promote solution-oriented thinking.
• Troubleshoot technical challenges and develop recovery plans.
• Act as the lead point of contact for Functional Area Leads and Energy Systems Project Manager.
• Represent discipline in the Product Development Review Meeting (PDRM).
• Support Resource Managers, Project Manager, and Technical Lead as required.
