We are currently seeking to add a Mechanical Project Leader to our Engineering team. Are you ready to take your HVAC engineering career to the next level? We are seeking a dynamic HVAC Project Leader to join our engineering team. In this experienced role, you will tackle non-routine and complex assignments, work alongside Senior Project Leaders to develop innovative design concepts, and primarily focus on technical aspects while gradually incorporating project management responsibilities. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Senior Project Leaders on schematic design, including mechanical and electrical room sizes and requirements.
  • Transform design concepts into development and construction documents.
  • Guide Entry Level Designers and Senior Designers, reviewing their work and providing mentorship.
  • Prepare design specifications and participate in company-wide projects like BIM and Standards.
  • Lead trade coordination and execute complex design tasks, including mechanical and electrical room layouts.
  • Attend construction meetings, generate observation reports, and conduct construction inspections.
  • Coordinate clearances with other design professionals and select appropriate project details.
  • Document existing conditions, troubleshoot issues, and conduct code research and evaluations.
  • Prepare addendums, change orders, and additional service requests.
  • Offer value engineering and participate in trade QA/QC to ensure compliance with design standards.
  • Support the firm's outreach and marketing efforts to enhance visibility and thought leadership.
  • Leverage resources across locations and time zones to meet project goals.
  • Act as the responsible agent on commissioning and construction management projects.
  • Innovate and enhance job functions and firm operations.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of design experience with an MEP/Consulting firm.
  • 10+ years of overall experience.
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering required.
  • FE required; LEED and/or PE preferred.
  • Proficient in design software and knowledgeable in CAD/BIM operations.
  • General knowledge of mechanical and electrical system design.
  • Capable of working within a project team.
  • Understanding and knowledge of applicable codes.
  • Keeps up with the latest advancements in design specialties through continued education.
