About the position

The Maintenance Technician at Continental Tire is responsible for performing maintenance functions related to mechanical and electrical equipment within the plant. This role requires a strong background in troubleshooting, installation, and repair of various systems and components, ensuring the efficient operation of the facility.

Responsibilities

  • Install and maintain piping systems, including Ferris and Non-Ferris materials.
  • Perform machinist work using common machine tools to shape and form materials.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems using hand tools to replace worn or broken parts.
  • Conduct carpentry work for repairing wood structures and constructing crates.
  • Perform sheet metal work for repairing duct work and machinery guards.
  • Weld using electric and gas methods in various positions.
  • Troubleshoot and repair control devices and motors in the 110 V AC to 4160 V AC range.
  • Maintain power transformers and lighting transformers.
  • Troubleshoot and repair relay/limit switch logic devices.
  • Perform electronic troubleshooting and repair of control devices with solid state components.
  • Troubleshoot, program, and repair PLCs.
  • Repair control devices used in steam, water, and air systems.
  • Communicate effectively with maintenance supervision and engineering personnel.
  • Follow all plant and safety policies, including operating a Fork Lift.
  • Accurately record job time and service attendance.
  • Perform other duties as directed by maintenance supervision.

Requirements

  • Strong troubleshooting skills in mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Excellent electrical and/or mechanical skills.
  • Dependable and accountable work ethic.
  • Ability to install and maintain various piping systems.
  • Experience with machinist work and common machine tools.
  • Proficiency in carpentry and woodworking tools.
  • Ability to perform sheet metal work.
  • Welding skills in electric and gas methods.
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing control devices and motors.
  • Knowledge of power transformers and lighting transformers maintenance.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair relay/limit switch logic devices.
  • Experience with electronic troubleshooting and repair of control devices.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, program, and repair PLCs.

Nice-to-haves
