About the position

The Engineering team has an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Test Application Engineer to work with a variety of electromechanical test systems and customers to grow EAG’s business. EAG provides stress-based reliability qualification and knowledge-based reliability qualification methodologies based on industry standards in support of our client’s need to achieve high quality and reliable products. This is a hands-on position that requires strong problem-solving skills to perform a wide range of analytical work. The Mechanical Test Application Engineer has the critical role of running reliability jobs on state-of-the-art products and interfacing directly with clients to define scope of work, develop technical requirements and programs, debug and resolve issues, and communicate schedule and status.

Responsibilities

• Assist management in development of cost, scope, and schedules for new projects.
• Test development, determine fixturing requirements and best practice for mechanical durability tests for various products and sub-assemblies.
• Test instruction interpretation and execution.
• Work directly with customer and inner company team members to analyze customer requirements and communicate questions, concerns, and recommendations.
• Data Collection and Analysis: monitor tests, collect and analyze data, and document findings.
• Perform tests that can vary from day to day or can be repetitive in nature.
• Perform visual inspection of various products, sub-assemblies, and components.
• Learn to use simple and complex systems and tools to perform various mechanical and environmental durability tests of mechanical and electrical samples.

Requirements

• BS degree in Mechanical or Electro Mechanical Engineering, Material Science, or equivalent field or related experience
• Knowledge in material stress/durability testing, systems, techniques, and industry standards
• Good vision, analytical, process-oriented, strong technical understanding, and excellent troubleshooting, debugging and problem-solving skills
• Proven willingness to learn new processes/systems and ability to operate independently, comfortable prioritizing and escalating as needed to succeed
• Proficient in the use of instruments: force testers, surface abrasion tester, microscopes, etc.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skillset to interact/engage with customers and team
• Quality control inspection experience is a plus
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
