About The Position

The Medicaid Program Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the research and analysis related to Medicaid programs and managing policy activities for these programs statewide. This role involves supervising lower-level positions, coordinating operations for the School Based Administrative Claiming Section, and ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. The supervisor will also manage programmatic and administrative budgets, conduct performance evaluations, and develop reporting systems to track service delivery and expenditures.

Requirements

  • A baccalaureate degree plus three years of professional level experience in administrative services, economics, public health, public relations, statistical analysis, social services, or health services.
  • Substitutions for the degree include six years of full-time work experience in any field or a combination of work experience and college credit.
  • Graduate training in relevant fields can substitute for required experience, with specific substitutions for master's and doctoral degrees.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the research and analysis related to Medicaid programs.
  • Manage policy activities for Medicaid programs statewide.
  • Coordinate operations for the School Based Administrative Claiming Section with contractors and other sections of the Bureau.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state laws, regulations, and guidelines related to Medicaid programs.
  • Manage programmatic and administrative budgets and staff.
  • Conduct performance appraisals, training, and employee counseling for subordinate staff.
  • Develop reporting systems for tracking service delivery and expenditures.
  • Review current and proposed state and federal regulations to determine their impact on program policies and procedures.
  • Act as Contract Monitor for the LDH/BHSF Administrative Claiming Contractor.
