Providers with South Texas Health System (STHS) Clinics deliver high quality family medicine, health screenings and advanced specialized care to the people of the Rio Grande Valley. STHS Clinics is committed to delivering quality healthcare and service excellence. Our clinics are affiliated with South Texas Health Systems' four acute care hospitals, behavioral health hospital, six freestanding emergency rooms and one joint venture hospital. Specially trained and highly experienced, our physician group treats a wide range of conditions using advanced technologies and minimally invasive techniques. Our Limited Medical Radiologic Technologists with Medical Assisting Skills certification help serve in a variety of medical and healthcare settings supporting patient diagnostic care. Our Limited Medical Radiologic Technologists with Medical Assisting Skills are key members of the STHS Clinics Team that will ensure that delivery of high-quality and cost-effective health care is consistent with the mission, vision, and values of Universal Health Services.
Responsibilities
- Participates in decision-making and process improvement.
- Assist with daily clerical operations, including answering multi-phone lines and making copies of documents as necessary.
- Accurately files patient charts; including scanning documents into files as necessary.
- Schedules patient appointments as necessary, return visits and Specialists.
- Pre-authorize prescriptions and clinical tests (CT, MRI, Ultrasound, etc.) as necessary.
- Performs all required x-ray procedures with basic/limited scope reporting, reviewing and maintenance of accurate records and equipment.
- Other Duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Medical Assistant certificate required.
- Current BLS/CPR certification required.
- Limited Scope of Practice Rad Tech Certification required.
- Medical Assistant Certificate of Completion and/or one year experience as a Medical Assistant.
- Familiarity with medical terminology required.
- Experience with patient check-in and check-out process (according to clinic protocol).
