About the position

The Medical Assistant (MA) position at Lady Moon Clinic, part of Banner Health, is a full-time role focused on providing essential support to clinicians and nursing staff in delivering medical care. The MA will assist in patient examinations, manage patient flow, and ensure a high-quality patient experience in a busy OB-GYN setting. This role involves both clinical and clerical responsibilities, including medication administration, patient scheduling, and maintaining a clean and functional environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for exams and treatments by taking and recording vital signs and symptoms.
  • Assist providers with exams and minor in-office procedures, including taking blood pressure and performing EKGs.
  • Coordinate and manage patient care, including referrals, authorizations, and scheduling.
  • Provide clerical support with patient notifications and documentation for billing purposes.
  • Maintain a clean and functional environment, including disinfecting equipment and exam rooms.
  • Order supplies and manage medication-related tasks.
  • Develop and maintain effective communication with all customers and team members.
  • Complete necessary onboarding and training activities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Completion of an approved medical assistant training program.
  • Active Medical Assistant Certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or NCMA).
  • BLS certification required.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with medical software.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple changing priorities effectively.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with office medical procedures and treatments.
  • Knowledge of insurance and managed care operations.
  • Familiarity with EMR and scheduling software.
