About The Position

The Pulmonary Medical Assistant (MA) at Lovelace Medical Center plays a crucial role in supporting effective patient care within a clinical setting. Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
• One year of recent experience working in a medical facility performing Medical Assistant duties or equivalent; OR, recent graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Must maintain BLS certification; and, if required, maintain training in venipuncture.
• Technical training in various medical equipment including AED, autoclave, BP cuffs, EKG machine, nebulizer, and more.

Nice To Haves

• Completion of a medical assistant program from an accredited institution
• Registered or nationally certified Medical Assistant
• May be cross-trained in other clinical specialties: Ob/Gyn, Neurology, Pediatrics, Podiatry, Family Practice, and Internal Medicine.

Responsibilities

• Performs clinical and administrative duties that assist in the delivery of effective patient care within assigned area.
• Greets patients, escorts them to exam room and performs vitals and other related MA duties.
• Demonstrates knowledge of medical practice and patient care as it relates to the clinical setting and medical specialty.
• Adheres to policies and procedures and regulations to ensure compliance and patient safety.
