About the position

We are seeking a dedicated and client-focused Medical Assistant to join our team at Stone Oak Allergy in San Marcos, Texas. Your responsibilities will include communicating with patients both in-person and over the phone, documenting related data, administering diagnostic testing and evaluations, and managing the overall clinic workflow. Our Medical Assistant team is integral to our success in providing allergy sufferers with long-lasting relief, and we are looking for someone who shares our passion for patient care. In this role, you will work closely with today's leaders in Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology, ensuring that each patient receives an outstanding experience during all interactions. You will be responsible for rooming numerous patients each day, obtaining vital signs, documenting pertinent medical history, and addressing any patient concerns or complaints. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to cross-train and support other clinical areas as needed, enhancing your skills and contributing to the overall efficiency of our clinic. The ability to perform all patient care procedures correctly, including allergy testing, immunotherapy injections, and asthma evaluations, is essential. You will also need to comply with regulations, standard operating procedures, and state-mandated laws, ensuring that our clinic operates smoothly and safely. Responsibilities

  • Provide outstanding patient experience during all phone conversations and office visits.
  • Room numerous patients per day and obtain vital signs, reason(s) for the visit, and document all pertinent medical history/information.
  • Administer diagnostic testing and evaluations, including allergy testing and asthma evaluations.
  • Manage overall clinic workflow and ensure compliance with regulations and standard operating procedures.
  • Administer injections in accordance with clinical protocols and physician orders.
  • Collaborate with medical staff and providers to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Cross-train and support other clinical areas when necessary.

Requirements

  • At least two years of Medical Assistant experience is preferred.
  • Ability to perform all patient care procedures correctly, including allergy testing and immunotherapy injections.
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with patients in-person and over the phone.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time throughout the day.
  • Commitment to maintaining relationships with patients and medical staff.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in allergy testing procedures such as skin testing and patch testing.
  • Familiarity with asthma evaluations and related procedures.
  • Previous experience in a fast-paced clinical environment.
