About the position

Virginia Mason is seeking a Per Diem Certified Medical Assistant to assist providers and other members of the healthcare team in a clinic setting. The role involves performing various back office and patient-related tasks to ensure smooth patient workflow and care. Medical Assistants will engage in patient care procedures within their scope of practice, contributing to a collaborative healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers and healthcare team members in the clinic.
• Perform a variety of back office and patient-related tasks.
• Ensure smooth patient workflow within the department.
• Conduct patient care procedures such as injections, EKGs, ear lavage, and blood draws.
• Measure patient vital signs including weight, height, blood pressure, pulse, respirations, and temperature.
• Manage rooming and patient flow, including pre-visit preparation and post-visit duties.
• Inform providers of schedule changes that impact patient flow.
• Assist with front office activities and varied scheduling tasks.
• Report test results as directed by the provider.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduation from an accredited medical assisting program required.
• Washington State Department of Health medical assistant certification (CM) or interim credential (IC) required.
• Knowledge of third-party payer requirements required.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently required.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills required.
• Skill in using a PC required.
