The Medical Billing position at Gold Cross Ambulance involves managing the billing and collection process for medical transportation claims. Responsibilities

• Answer patient calls and assist with questions regarding transport and related charges.
• Verify pertinent demographic information and assist with appeals and other billing-related items.
• Work directly with insurance companies, healthcare providers, and patients to process and pay claims.
• Identify correct insurances to be billed according to state regulations and contractual obligations.
• Reach out to patients to complete necessary information for claim processing.
• Set up payment arrangements and address financial hardship situations.
• Complete correspondence and other items sent in by patients and insurance companies.
• Perform all other duties and projects as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience with Microsoft Suite of Products (Word, Excel, etc.).
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently.
• Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and high attention to detail.
• Ability to stand, walk, sit, and move freely for extended periods.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous customer service experience is preferred (but not required).
• Desire to learn and understand new concepts.
