About the position

We are seeking an experienced Physician Assistant with a strong background in medical dermatology to join our privately owned clinic in Northbrook, Illinois. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our dermatologists in delivering high-quality patient care. The Physician Assistant will be responsible for conducting comprehensive skin examinations, diagnosing and treating various skin conditions, and performing dermatologic procedures. Additionally, the role involves providing patient education on skin care and treatment plans, assisting in cosmetic procedures, and maintaining accurate documentation of patient histories and treatments in electronic health records (EHR). Continuous education and professional development are essential to stay updated with the latest advancements in dermatology, ensuring the highest standard of care for our patients.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive skin examinations to diagnose and treat various skin conditions such as acne, eczema, psoriasis, and skin infections.
  • Perform dermatologic procedures including biopsies, cryotherapy, and minor surgical interventions.
  • Provide patient education on skin care, treatment plans, and preventive measures.
  • Assist dermatologists in cosmetic procedures as needed.
  • Document patient histories, treatments, and progress accurately in electronic health records (EHR).
  • Stay updated with the latest developments in dermatology through continuous education and professional development.

Requirements

  • Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Current certification as a Physician Assistant.
  • Valid state license to practice as a Physician Assistant.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in medical dermatology.
  • Strong diagnostic and clinical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
