About the position
The Medical Front Office Assistant plays a crucial role in ensuring a welcoming environment for patients while supporting the operational success of a medical office. This position involves greeting patients, managing their information, scheduling appointments, and verifying insurance details, all while maintaining a smooth administrative workflow.
Responsibilities
- Answer phone calls, e-mails, and in-person inquiries.
- Communicate with patients to set up and schedule optimal appointment times.
- Gather and track medical information from patients.
- Organize and input data into electronic health records.
- Inquire and process patient's health insurance.
- Support the office with administrative and secretarial tasks.
- Communicate with the internal office team and providers to ensure patients are helped and everyday tasks are accomplished.
- Understand and maintain HIPAA regulations.
Requirements
- Proficient in Spanish language.
- Strong interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Efficient problem-solving skills.
- Strong knowledge of medical language and health insurance plans.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous medical office or receptionist experience preferred.
- Experience with computer programs, such as Microsoft Office.
Nice-to-haves
- Customer service experience (1 year preferred).
- Medical terminology knowledge (1 year preferred).
- Computer skills (1 year preferred).
