The Medical Technologist (MT) I maintains current professional knowledge and skills to perform testing as a generalist in the Clinical Laboratory, including chemistry, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, serology, and basic microbiology and blood banking. This position is responsible for producing high quality, accurate test results in an efficient manner consistent with laboratory and hospital policy. The MT I collects samples and analyzes bodily fluids and substances for abnormalities, including blood samples used in transfusions. They perform automated tests using computerized instruments and automated equipment, as well as manual tests based on detailed instructions from a physician.
