About the position

The Medical Receptionist at Florida Medical Clinic's Orthopedics department is responsible for managing front desk operations in a fast-paced environment. This role requires strong multitasking abilities and excellent customer service skills to ensure efficient patient check-in and appointment scheduling while maintaining a welcoming atmosphere.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares e-chart prior to patient visits.
  • Prints necessary forms including encounter and demographic verification forms.
  • Assists traffic at the front window and manages sign-in sheets.
  • Schedules appointments and assists with medication refill requests.
  • Handles customer requests and needs, including vendor assistance.
  • Monitors the lobby for cleanliness and patients in distress.
  • Completes patient check-in processes and distributes new patient forms.
  • Verifies HIPAA and Privacy signatures are obtained.
  • Confirms photo ID and insurance cards are scanned into the system correctly.
  • Obtains patient signatures on demographic verification forms at each visit.
  • Updates patient demographics and records 'no show' appointments in the system.
  • Collects and processes payments, including co-payments and patient balances.
  • Balances user journal and prepares cash reconciliation forms.
  • Addresses Intergy tasks in a timely manner and answers phones as needed.
  • Directs calls to appropriate individuals and takes messages.
  • Completes end-of-day processes and prints next day appointment schedules.
  • Maintains an organized work area and participates in supply maintenance.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or GED equivalent required.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar role required.
  • Strong customer service orientation and experience required.
  • Excellent telephone and business etiquette.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
