About the position

The Medical Secretary position at FlexStaff involves performing a variety of secretarial duties that support management and/or a physician in a healthcare setting. The role is designed for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and are capable of ensuring timely and accurate appointment coordination. The Medical Secretary will be responsible for scheduling face-to-face appointments for patients prior to their discharge, which requires effective communication with patients, their family members, clinical staff, and leadership to facilitate seamless coordination. In addition to appointment scheduling, the Medical Secretary will utilize multiple applications to streamline and enhance the scheduling process. The position also includes diversified secretarial duties such as typing various forms of correspondence, scheduling meetings, transmitting documents via computer, mail, or fax, maintaining files and filing systems, and taking meeting minutes. Receptionist duties and maintaining office inventory by ordering supplies are also part of the responsibilities. The role requires strong analytical thinking to assess complex situations and make informed decisions, contributing to a collaborative and patient-centric environment. Training for this position includes general training in Melville for 2-3 weeks on a hybrid schedule, followed by 1-2 weeks of training with a site manager on a fully remote schedule. After training, the assignment will continue on-site in New Hyde Park, ensuring that the Medical Secretary is well-prepared to handle the responsibilities of the role effectively.

Requirements
