The role is a full-time position within the Lab Admin-Clin Labs department, requiring 40 scheduled weekly hours, and operates on a day shift.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and analyzes patient samples using current, moderately complex laboratory methods/instrumentation under supervision.
• Determines specimen integrity prior to analysis under supervision.
• Reports results of patient sample analysis using computer/instrument interface options under supervision.
• Performs instrument preventative maintenance and method troubleshooting as needed under supervision.
• Adheres to safety, quality control and quality assurance protocols under supervision.
• Assists the supervisor in maintaining supply inventory and participates in special procedures under supervision.
• Assists the supervisor in writing and updating procedures as needed under supervision.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry or Biology with an advanced certificate in Medical Technology required.
• NYS Clinical Laboratory Technologist license eligible required.
• Limited Permit (submitted to NYSED) preferred.
