About the position

Belton Regional Medical Center is seeking a Medical Technologist ASCP PRN to join our team. This role involves conducting routine and complex laboratory tests in various fields such as toxicology, chemistry, hematology, immunology, and microbiology for patient diagnosis and treatment. The Medical Lab Scientist will be responsible for performing chemical, bacteriological, serological, and microscopic procedures, ensuring accurate results, and maintaining quality control measures. This position is ideal for individuals who are dedicated to patient care and have a passion for creating positive patient interactions.

Responsibilities

  • Perform chemical, bacteriological, serological, and microscopic procedures in one or more laboratory sections.
  • Produce accurate results in hematology, serology, chemistry, blood bank, coagulation, urinalysis, microbiology, and other designated areas.
  • Maintain quality results by running standards and controls, calibrating equipment, and verifying equipment function through routine maintenance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in laboratory science or related science required OR 'Grandfathered' as a medical technologist by CLIA 88.
  • MT (ASCP), CLS (NCA), MLS (ASCP) or equivalent certification required OR registry/certification eligible.
  • Registry/certification must be obtained within 1 year of hire.
  • One (1) year experience in an accredited lab setting preferred.
